Fuel Tank Vent Line Leaks Fuel

Recall Details

The fuel tank vent hose may not be attached to the fuel tank securely, resulting in a possible fuel leak. Dealers will inspect and tighten the tank vent line hose clamp free of charge to resolve the concern.

What Should You Do?

Recalls on your Chevrolet or GMC truck must be performed by a General Motors dealership. General Motors notified known owners of affected vehicles in early 2015. If you did not receive a notification, but wish to check to see if your vehicle is included, please contact one of your local General Motors dealerships. They will also check for any other uncompleted recalls on your vehicle. Summary
General Motors LLC (GM) is recalling certain model year 2015 Chevrolet Silverado HD diesel vehicles manufactured September 30, 2014, to October 21, 2014, and GMC Sierra HD diesel vehicles manufactured October 8, 2014, to October 21, 2014. In the affected vehicles, the hose clamp that secures the fuel tank vent line may not have been properly tightened during assembly.
Consequence
A loose hose clamp could allow the fuel tank vent line to detach which may result in a fuel leak, increasing the risk of a fire.
Remedy
GM will notify owners, and dealers will inspect and tighten the fuel tank vent line hose clamp, as necessary, free of charge. The manufacturer has not yet provided a notification schedule. Owners may contact GM customer service at 1-800-222-1020 (Chevrolet), or 1-800-462-8782 (GMC). GM's number for this recall is 14855.
