If the frontal air bags, seat belt pretensioners, and side air bags are disabled, there is an increased risk of injury to the vehicle occupants in the event of a vehicle crash that necessitates use of the passive restraint system.
A system fault within the vehicle's Occupant Restraint Control (ORC) module may disable the frontal and side airbags, as well as the seat belt pretensioners, which aid in restraining passengers in the event of a crash.
Chrysler will begin recalling vehicles on December 8, 2014. Please contact your dealer if the airbag warning light stays on. If you don't receive notification in a timely manner and believe you should have, please contact your dealer for further instruction. They may ask for your vehicle identification number (VIN), so please have it handy when you call. Dealers will replace the ORC module free of charge. Chrysler's number for this recall is P87.
