If the ESC is disabled during certain driving situations, the driver may not be able to adequately control the vehicle, increasing the risk of a crash.
Due to a problem with software, the electronic stability control (ECS) system may deactivate while driving the vehicle. This affects safe driving in adverse conditions. Dealers will update the needed software free of charge to resolve the concern.
Chrysler began notifying owners of affected vehicles starting in December 2014. You can check with your dealer to see if your vehicle is involved in this program. It is helpful to have your VIN (Vehicle Identification Number) on hand when you contact them. The Chrysler recall number is P64.
