The leaking oil may soak into the thermal blanket covering the exhaust, which when combined with heat from exhaust, may result in an increased risk of fire.
Work trucks modified by Vanair Manufacturing, Incorporated could leak oil from the power take off (PTO) unit that drives added vehicle work equipment. This oil leak could create a fire hazard when leaking onto the vehicle exhaust system.
Vainair began notifying owners of affected vehicles in November 2014. You can check with your dealer to assist in seeing if your vehicle is involved in this program. It is helpful to have your VIN (Vehicle Identification Number) on hand when you contact them.
