Brakes
If the ABS valve corrodes it may result in longer brake pedal travel or reduced performance, increasing the risk of a vehicle crash.
The anti-lock brake system (ABS) module may experience corrosion to its internal valves, causing the valves to stick. Sticking valves will reduce braking performance. Dealers will replace the ABS module free of charge to resolve the problem.
General Motors notified owners of affected vehicles starting in September 2014. You can check with your dealer to see if your vehicle is involved in this program. It is helpful to have your VIN (Vehicle Identification Number) on hand when you contact them. The General Motors recall number is 14505.
