Recall 14V204000

Vehicle Engages Reverse Before Engaging Drive Position

Recall Details

When shifting the transmission from park to drive, transmission may improperly engage reverse instead of drive briefly before finally engaging the drive position as selected, possibly resulting in unexpected vehicle movement. Dealers will update the transmission software free of charge to resolve the concern.

Our Quick Take

When shifting the transmission from park to drive, the transmission may improperly engage the reverse gear for 1.5 seconds prior to engaging drive, even when showing drive on the shift lever position display. This could result in unexpected movement of the vehicle in the improper direction, and result in injury or an accident.
