Brakes
A loss of braking assistance will require extra pedal force and/or distance to bring the vehicle to a stop, increasing the risk of a crash.
The electric vacuum pump that provides power assist to the braking system may fail, resulting in extra braking effort needed to stop the vehicle. Dealers will replace a microswitch in the power brake vacuum pipe assembly free of charge to resolve the concern.
General Motors notified owners of affected vehicles beginning in October 2013. You can check with your dealer to see if your vehicle is involved in this program. It is helpful to have your VIN (Vehicle Identification Number) on hand when you contact them. The General Motors recall number is 12213.
