THE LOOSE CONNECTIONS MAY CAUSE THE DRIVER TO NOT RECEIVE A VISUAL OR AUDIBLE WARNING THAT THE DRIVER SEAT BELT IS NOT FASTENED, THEREBY INCREASING THE RISK OF PERSONAL INJURY IN THE EVENT OF A CRASH.
Certain vehicles may have been produced with a driver's side seat belt buckle electrical connector that does not fit snugly with the connector terminals, causing the electrical connection to be intermittent. This loose electrical connection may cause the driver not to receive a visual or audible warning that the driver's seat belt is not fastened. If the seat belt is not properly fastened in the event of a crash, there is an increased risk of personal injury. Dealers will replace the seat belt buckle electrical connector terminals to correct this concern. The General Motors recall number is 11322.
General Motors will notify owners of affected vehicles beginning November 30, 2011. If you are experiencing problems with the seat belt warning system, or you don't receive notification and you feel you should have, please contact your dealer. It's helpful to have your vehicle identification number (VIN) when you call.
