THE REAR HATCH COULD SEPARATE IN THE EVENT OF A CRASH, INCREASING THE RISK OF INJURY.
The rear hatch hinges may not meet the load requirement as specified in the federal safety standards. In the event of a crash, the rear hatch could separate from the vehicle, increasing the risk of injury. Dealers will replace both rear hatch hinges to correct this concern. The General Motors recall number is 11258
General Motors will notify owners of affected vehicles beginning October 7, 2011. If you are experiencing problems with the rear hatch hinges, or you don't receive notification and you feel you should have, please contact your dealer. It's helpful to have your vehicle identification number (VIN) when you call.
