POWER STEERING FLUID COULD FLOW ONTO THE CATALYTIC CONVERTER, AND AN ENGINE COMPARTMENT FIRE COULD OCCUR.
The upper power steering hose may be misrouted, causing it to be damaged from the heat of the catalytic converter. Power steering fluid may leak onto the catalytic converter, resulting in an engine compartment fire. Dealers will inspect the upper power steering hose routing and make the necessary repairs to correct this concern. The General Motors recall number is 11224.
General Motors will notify owners of affected vehicles beginning August 12, 2011. If you notice a burning smell and did not receive notification, please contact your dealer. It's helpful to have your vehicle identification number (VIN) when you call.
