The windshield is bonded to its framework, not only creating a watertight seal, but contributing to the structural integrity of the roof. 210 vehicles were assembled with insufficient bonding in the upper right area of the windshield. In the event of a roll over type crash, the stability of the roof could be affected, increasing the risk of injury. Dealers will remove and reinstall the windshield and re-install it with the proper bonding to correct this concern.

BMW will notify owners of affected vehicles beginning March 30, 2010. There are no symptoms related to this recall. If you don't receive notification and you feel you should have, please contact your dealer. It’s helpful to have your vehicle identification number (VIN) handy when you call.
