Electrical & Lights
INAPPROPRIATE, NON-STANDARD LIGHTS COULD INCREASE THE RISK OF A CRASH OR DRIVING ON A SIGNIFICANTLY UNDER-INFLATED TIRE CAUSES THE TIRE TO OVERHEAT AND CAN LEAD TO TIRE FAILURE.
The brake lights may stay illuminated. The tire pressure warning light may come on only after a tire has lost an excessive amount of air. Ineffective brake lights could cause an accident. Erroneous tire pressure warnings could allow tire pressure to get dangerously low. Dealers will reprogram the brake position sensor and the remote door lock receiver. The GM recall numbers are 09101 and 09046. This recall began on June 5, 2009.
We at RepairPal have designated this a medium priority recall; this would change to high if any problems are noted with the brake lights or a tire pressure warning light. Please contact your General Motors dealer. They will check to see if your specific vehicle is affected and advise you on what to do next. Always have your vehicle identification number (VIN) handy when you call.
