Drive Train
IF THE VEHICLE IS PARKED ON AN INCLINE OR BUMPED, IT MAY ROLL AND STRIKE A PERSON, OBJECT, OR ANOTHER VEHICLE WITHOUT WARNING, AND CAUSE PERSONAL INJURY.
The transfer case drive chain may fail and cause the AWD system to fail. Chain failure will also prevent the vehicle from being secure in "Park." Dealers will inspect the transfer case and replace it if necessary. The GM recall number is N080244. This recall began on August 15, 2008.
We at RepairPal have designated this a medium priority recall, which would change to high if AWD functionality is compromised or the vehicle is not secure in "Park." Please contact your General Motors dealer. They will check to see if your specific vehicle is affected and advise you on what to do next. Always have your vehicle identification number (VIN) handy when you call.
