DRIVING A VEHICLE WITH AN UNLATCHED DOOR CAN RESULT IN AN UNBELTED FRONT SEAT OCCUPANT FALLING OUT OF THE VEHICLE OR BEING EJECTED IN A CRASH, CAUSING INCREASED RISK OF INJURY.
The cable from the interior door release handle to the front door latch may come unseated, causing the latch to possibly stay in the unlatched position or the door lock not to function. If the door opens unexpectedly, an unbelted front seat occupant may fall out or be ejected in a crash. Dealers will add a secondary retention feature to both front doors. The recall began October 29, 2007. The Chrysler recall number is G33.
We at RepairPal have designated this a high priority recall; the door may not latch when closed. Please contact your Chrysler dealer. They will check to see if your specific vehicle is affected and advise you on what to do next. Always have your vehicle identification number (VIN) handy when you call.
