Engine
MISFIRE MAY OCCUR DURING DRIVING THAT, IN TURN, WILL REDUCE THE ENGINE TORQUE AND IN THE WORST CASE SCENARIO, THE ENGINE MAY STALL WITHOUT WARNING. IN CERTAIN TRAFFIC SITUATIONS THIS COULD CAUSE AN UNSAFE SITUATION AND POSSIBLY A CRASH.
The fuel pressure sensor may at times transmit an incorrect signal to the engine control module. If the signal is outside of the pre-programmed allowable limits, the Check Engine Light can illuminate and a fault code will be stored. An engine misfire and/or engine stalling may occur. In certain traffic situations, this could cause an unsafe situation and possibly a crash. Dealers will replace the fuel pressure sensor to correct this concern. The Volvo recall number is R181.
Volvo will notify owners of affected vehicles beginning June 29, 2007. If your Check Engine Light illuminates and/or you are experiencing engine performance issues, or you don't receive notification and you feel you should have, please contact your dealer. It's helpful to have your vehicle identification number (VIN) when you call.
