AN ELECTRICAL SHORT MIGHT CAUSE AN ABS MALFUNCTION THAT WOULD ILLUMINATE THE ABS WARNING LIGHT, AND IN SOME CASES, THE MODULE MAY OVERHEAT RESULTING IN BURNING ODOR, SMOKE, AND/OR FIRE. THIS CONDITION COULD OCCUR EITHER WHEN THE VEHICLE IGNITION SWITCH IS IN THE OFF POSITION OR WHILE THE VEHICLE IS BEING OPERATED.
The antilock braking system (ABS) may experiencing an internal short circuit. This can resulf to the module overheating and can start a fire.
You must visit a Mazda dealership to perform recall repairs on your Mazda vehicle. May, 2007 is the date of first customer contact by Mazda. If not notified, you can check to see if your vehicle is included in this or any other recall by contacting one of your local Mazda dealerships. Be prepared to provide your Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) to the service department consultant you speak with. The Mazda recall designation is 4507C.
