IF A CUSTOMER REPLACES A WHEEL AND ONLY RELIES ON THE RIM SIZE DESIGNATION THAT IS INDICATED ON THE LABEL, A WHEEL THAT IS OF A DIFFERENT RIM CONTOUR DESIGNATION MAY BE INSTALLED. IT MAY BE DIFFICULT OR IMPOSSIBLE TO MOUNT THE TIRE ON A WHEEL WITH THE WRONG CONTOUR. IF THE TIRE IS MOUNTED ON THE WHEEL WITH THE WRONG CONTOUR, THE WHEEL AND TIRE MAY NOT PERFORM AS INTENDED, WHICH COULD INCREASE THE RISK OF A CRASH.
The information about proper wheel and tire installation for affected vehicles that is located on the drivers door jamb may be incorrect. This can lead to improper wheels and tires being installed on the vehicle and can lead to a crash.
You must visit a General Motors dealership to perform recall repairs on your Chevrolet, GMC Cadillac truck. The schedule for General Motors to initially contact known owners of affected vehicles begins during November, 2006. If you do not receive a notification, but wish to check to see if your vehicle is included, please contact one of your local General Motors dealerships. They will also check for any other incomplete recalls on your vehicle. For best results, be prepared to provide your Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) to the service department consultant you speak with. The General Motors recall designation is 06079.
