FUEL LEAKAGE IN THE PRESENCE OF AN IGNITION SOURCE COULD RESULT IN A FIRE.
The fuel return line fitting at the fuel pump may be restricted, causing excessive fuel pressure in the fuel injection system. This may result in a fuel leak from the return hose. A fuel leak always increases the risk of a fire. Dealers will inspect the fuel pump pressure. Vehicles with higher than normal fuel pressure will receive fuel pump modifications to correct this concern.
Mitsubishi will notify owners of affected vehicles beginning December 3, 2003. If you are experiencing a fuel leak or smell, or you don't receive notification and you feel you should have, please contact your dealer. It's helpful to have your vehicle identification number (VIN) when you call.
