Exhaust & Emissions
A STRONG ODOR OF NATURAL GAS MAY BE DETECTED FROM INSIDE THE VEHICLE, POSSIBLY ACCOMPANIED BY A HISSING NOISE. IF THE NATURAL GAS WERE ACCIDENTALLY IGNITED, SERIOUS INJURY COULD RESULT.
For vehicles using Compressed Natural Gas (CNG), the throttle cable can contact and rub through the flexible pressurized fuel line. This would create a fuel leak and a fire hazard.
You must visit a General Motors dealership to perform recall repairs on your GMC truck or Cadillac vehicle. The schedule for General Motors to initially contact known owners of affected vehicles begins during December, 2003. If you do not receive a notification, but wish to check to see if your vehicle is included, please contact one of your local General Motors dealerships. They will also check for any other incomplete recalls on your vehicle. For best results, be prepared to provide your Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) to the service department consultant you speak with. The General Motors recall designation is 03053.
