I replaced my battery not knowing that doing so would cause a lock out of the radio. I have checked other sites for a code but they all require a fee. I am unemployed and any help you could provide would be much appreciated

You may be able to get your radio unlock code from your local GM dealer for free. Use the following instructions to reterive the internal radio unlock codes:

Press and hold push buttons 2 and 3 until a three digit code appears on the display.
Write the three digit code on a piece of paper.
Press the AM/FM push button, a three digit code will appear on the display again.
Write the three digit code on a piece of paper.
(don't worry if the two three digit codes you retrieve are the same, that can happen sometimes.)

With this six digit code your local GM dealer can make a call to A/C delco and retrieve the factory unlock code for your radio. As I said before, some dealerships will do this for free. They must make the call because their dealer code must be given in order for them to retrieve your unlock codes.

When you have the factory unlock code just input it into the radio as per the instructions in your owners manual.
