Radiator "Y" hose

(2008 Dodge Grand Caravan)
in Denver, CO on September 24, 2010
Leaking radiator fluid from Y hose. Only overheats if vents on, not if A/C is on. (Coincidence?)Dealer only part $101, not incl hourly repair cost. My husband stopped the leak, from the y hose and even tho no leak, car still overheated while vents on. Only overheats in a.m. after sitting all night. Any ideas?

If it only overheats after sitting overnight it sounds like it's low on coolant. It may be forming an air bubble in the thermostat and when the coolant heats up and expands, then it displaces the air pocket and the thermostat opens. If the hose wasn't replaced, it probably still leaks some.

I HAD THE SAME PROBLEM WITH MY 2008 DODGE GRAND CARAVAN LOOKED ON YOUTUBE AND FOUND A SOLUTION WENT TO LOWES
AND GOT A 1/2" T PIPE AND 5/8" HEATER CORE WHOSE AND 2 GALLONS OF ANTIFREEZE AND ONLY TOOK 20 MINUTES AND COST ME $ 6.00 NOT COUNTING THE ANTIFREEZE COST LIKE $ 12.00 WAY CHEAPER THAN THE DEALER AND NEVER HAD ANY PROBLEMS SINCE
THEN HOPE IT WORKS OUT
