This is a vacuum leak in the climate control airflow system. There are 3 or 4 vacuum diaphragms that control the vents and one or more of them may be leaking, or there is a leak somewhere else in the system. If you take this to a shop that is familiar with this vehicle they will check it to determine where the leak is and provide an estimate to repair. Do you have the 940 SE model?
