Can you check the diagnostic codes stored in the engine control module? I could be many things..best to start with checking the codes.

Yes got a 121code which is the mass sensor

OK. The MAF Sensor could definitely cause this issue. Sometimes these are damaged because the airbox thermostat is stuck open, allowing hot air to always be delivered into the airbox. Here's the thermostat I'm referring to: https://www.fcpeuro.com/products/volvo-engine-air-box-thermostat-1266826 Make sure you check and fix that if it's stuck open. Good luck
