If a customer brings in there own parts ther is two complications one the shop that fits the parts shares some liability for the parts even though they did not supply them and secondly they are loosing a percentage profit that is assumed they would have gained if they supplied the parts. Here in Santa Cruz CA, labor costs range between $85 to $125 and hour. Some shops will not work on cars where the customer supplies the parts.
