What is your question?
Yaris iA, 2018 model: squeaking noise when I back up and hit the brakes. 15,000 miles on the car. Took it to a mechanic. He didn't put the car on the lift, but maybe gave it a quick look. He said I should come back in 25,000 miles, that car had too few miles for brake replacement. What could this sound possibly be due to?

Hi, my name is Devin. I am an auto repair expert with the Car Genius team here at RepairPal. I’m sorry to hear you're having trouble with your vehicle. The squeaking noise you're hearing when backing up and braking could be due to a few reasons. It might be brake dust or debris caught between the brake pads and rotors, which can create a squeaking sound. Alternatively, it could be a sign of worn brake pads or the need for lubrication on the brake components, especially if the squeak is more pronounced when the brakes are applied. Since your Yaris has relatively low mileage, it’s less likely that the pads are worn out, but it’s still worth investigating further. I recommend having a thorough inspection by a trusted mechanic to pinpoint the exact cause.
