Hello, expected mileage is only a "guesstimate" based off of previous driving habits and battery capacity. It's difficult to say if there's a capacity issue without performing diagnostic testing - I'd recommend engaging your Toyota dealership in this case, as there is a hybrid battery warranty for California Emissions coverage that would likely assist if there's a problem. However, my guess is that it's more driving habits than battery capacity. Too complicated to explain here, but the way the vehicle is driven mostly influences the amount of "expected miles" is displayed. Sounds like an engine performance issue that needs to have testing performed to figure out what's wrong. The engine performance problem like the one you are experiencing really will need hands on testing to resolve. It's impossible to guess what is going on, as so many possible causes exist. Concerns with: -Ignition spark -Fuel delivery -Engine compression -Engine timing -Air to the intake -Exhaust flow -Emissions control components Are all possible causes and contributors to the concern you are having. Hands on testing is needed. Use this link to find some shops near you that can help with your concern: www.repairpal.com/repair-shops
