If RPM slightly exceeds pick up speed does that mean clutch adjustment or replacement?

It could mean that the clutch is wearing and slipping slightly. There is no adjustment to be made - this is a hydraulic, automatically adjusting clutch system. I'd recommend getting the opinion of a third party to see how the performance is perceived for someone driving your car for the first time. But it could be that clutch replacement is not far off.
