where is the starter

On the V8 it is under the intake plenum (big job to replace) in line 6 engine it is in the rear of the engine compartment passenger side low down on the engine block about .8 hours to replace.

I believe its under the intake plenuum, stupid place but toyotas never break down, yeah right
