Standard tansmission that is making alot of noise. No slippage and shifts fine. Could it be the throwout bearing? The car has 128000 miles.

Depends on when you hear the noise. When was the last time (if ever) the clutch was replaced or inspected?

Clutch was never replaced and the noise is when the car is being driven and gets louder in the higher gears.

Could be the throwout bearing, and could be internal bearings in the transaxle itself.
