I had changed the alternator and the fuseable link in the car...but it still has no power to the ignition for anything to turn on

When did the problem start -- what happened? It's important to start from square one. Check the battery for state of charge and ability to sustain a load. Check all connections to the battery. Then check any fuses - if something was done where polarity of the battery was reversed, like a jump start in error, multiple fuses may be blown. As you can see, this is all totally guesswork from where I sit because I don't know enough about your car or the circumstances. Checking for power is a process done using a voltmeter / ohmmeter and tracing backwards from the point of electricity, referencing a workshop wiring diagram.
