This valve is located at the intake manifold / throttle body area. It is fairly well accessible. However, I would ask what the cause of replacing it is.
Im posting for someone on a fixed income. The engine light is on and took to an auto parts store. The printout says idle air control valve. The car is losing power. Also, thinks that it's possible it only needs cleaning, but didn't know where the valve was located. Im limited on data or i would search utube. Thanks for your time.
I appreciate what you're trying to accomplish, but most of what you're doing is guessing and hoping. A "printout" will not diagnose your vehicle. Having a "code" for an idle air control valve does not condemn that part. You can try to move forward replacing parts, but what if it's a different procedure or a different part? You cannot effectively "clean" this valve, either.
