What is your question?
STi has perfect idle in neutral and clutch disingaged. When going into gear with clutch fully pressed in, before releasing the clutch, the rpm drops to the point of dying or almost dying. Car will turn off when coasting to a stop and clutch depressed while in gear. Checked all the vacuum hoses and everything seems to be hooked up. Is this a ToB issue?
What makes this problem better or worse?
Idles fine when clutch is disengaged and not in gear.

Hi, this is Dusty; I'm one of the auto experts on RepairPal's Car Genius team! It sounds like you're experiencing a frustrating issue with your Subaru. The symptoms you're describing, such as the RPM dropping significantly or the car stalling when you press the clutch and put it in gear, can point to several potential problems. A faulty throw-out bearing will typically cause noise or difficulty shifting gears. The stalling could be related to a tranmission or clutch issue, but there are many other possibilites that could be throwing a wrench in the mix. Stalling is an event which can leave you very vulnerable to an accident, and we don't want that. I'd recommend taking your car to a trusted technician who can perform a thorough firthand diagnosis is the safest bet. They'll have the tools and expertise to accurately identify and fix the issue, saving you from unnecessary parts replacements and ensuring your WRX STi runs smoothly.
