How to attach the plastic clip that holds the roof trim in place.

What is your question?

The plastic clip at the rear end of the roof trim (black rubber that goes from the windshield to back window on each side of the car) broke off. Ordered a new clip, and it has what at first appeared to be a kind of peel and stick adhesive, but is in fact some kind of glue. Is the glue heat activated, or activated by some kind of solvent?
