What is your question?
HVAC issues ACC codes 08 and 14: I need to fix a loose left blend door and a loose air distributor motor - defroster is not blowing and can't effectively control the temp of the car. Any knowledgable estimates here would be much appreciated! Thanks.

There are 3 possible problems for code 08, a common failure. In order of cost, a plastic stop arm has broken or the shaft to the stepper motor has broken. In rarer cases the stepper motor is burned out. There are kits to fix the first 2 problems available on thesaabsite.com: http://www.thesaabsite.com/shop/search.php?MaxCount=10&gogo=2&extra=blend+door&myCat1=95&a1=Start+Search You should seek a Saab knowledgeable shop for this, unless you're handy. Most shops aren't familiar with the procedure. There is some descriptions on thesaabsite and on the Saab Central forum. For someone who knows what they're doing it should take no more than 1-1.5 hours, maybe less, to remove the lower panel on drivers side and install this kit. If it's the stepper motor there's more to remove, expect 2-3 hours. Cost for the part for the stop arm should be around $30, the shaft / arm $80-90, and the stepper motor something like $200.
