the problem is when turning ignition on it goes to cooling mode. can manually change to heater mode
How long has your 2011 Ram 3500 had this problem?

Ok .. Does 'COLD AIR' start blowing out as well ? ... Keep in mind the air conditioner compressor will also engage 'by default' when certain HVAC settings are selected - even in the heat mode.
