Hello, I'm not easily finding the correlation between pushing your truck a little bit and the starter motor engaging. Perhaps there is a brake light switch issue, or perhaps wiring issue at the brake light switch? Testing should be performed bypassing the switch to see if the problem continues. Sounds like the concern is isolated to that area if moving the truck somehow makes it better. Seek guidance at an outside repair facility for additional assistance towards repair. https://repairpal.com/auto-repair-near-me
Hi! this is Bo with Car Genius at RepairPal! That's a weird one! My first thought was also the brake light switch but having said that you replaced it already, my second thought was a shift interlock failure or gravity pulling on the parking pawl. If your truck is parked on an incline without the parking brake on, the weight of the truck could be putting extra pressure on the parking pawl. Rocking the truck can help relieve this pressure. There may be a shift interlock override near the PRNDL switch. Try that. If not shift through the gears and pack to park while the car is off to see if it will settle in Park.
