After car is warmed up it starts cutting off in drive or reverse

just got vehicle and it only has 24000 miles but obviously has been sitting for long while. Anyway after it has been running for a bit it starts stalling out when you come to a stop. Will restart but won't stay running at all as soon as you shift to reverse or drive

How long has your 1990 Pontiac Trans Sport had this problem?
