My guess. No. There are too many variables. I believe both used column and floor shifting. Those years cross the gap between Passlock systems. Find one out of the proper car and year. There are still 10 different options in that year, but you should be able to get an inexpensive one from a junk-yard. If it does have pass-lock the new cylinder and key will require programming or the vehicle will not start. What wrong with the column?

My car wont start ive changed battery starter checked all conections so I think it lies within the colume. Will a colume from a 99 boniville work?

I cannot tell you that. You will have to match it by vin and rpo code at a junk yard. The colummn will not prevent it from starting. If it has Passkey that could be the problem. It may not have fuel pressure, spark, ignition switch bad? I don't know. But if you insist on replacing the column have the junk yard check vin and rpo codes
