my pontiac grand prix gt will randomly go to 0 RPMs while driving and after every couple miles the car jerks and eventualy the battery adn oil light will come on. i will turn off the car and then start it back up then it works fin for a while.
How long has your 1999 Pontiac Grand Prix had this problem?

Hello, start by checking the function of your charging system - with your battery -- is it fully charged and holding a load? And then your alternator / voltage regulator. You may find that you are having voltage issues contributing to your experience. This is a starting point.
