Why does my car radio just make a series of beeps tape player &speakers work

Hello, if this is a factory equipped audio unit, it is likely that a "code" is coming from the audio system. Likely to indicate that a warning light on the dash is inoperative. Check to see if your air bag or engine emissions light illuminates with the key on and engine off. If a warning light is burned out, often times beeping will occur to alert you.
