Why does my ignition key only work off tge key chain?

Hi - Dave here, contributing to RepairPal and providing expert advice since 2010. To be honest, I'm not sure exactly what you're asking. The ignition key of the vehicle should work regardless of where it is presented, on a key chain or not.
