ABS, TRAC & SES light come on sometimes when just turning wheel n Not moving. Other times they come on while moving and turning or hitting a bump / rough road, turning a hard turn However sometimes it May not come on at all for my 110 mi trip to or from work. My Diagnose shows no trouble codes. Brakes seem / feel good n pads are GC. I can place trans in "N", turn off / On engine while moving and lights go Off n may not come back on till the above items happen or sometimes they don't come on. Approx. 184,000 mi. Just finished changing 4 struts n @ 200,00 will be doing another FULL tuneup (pulgs, wires, trans / fluids, etc) Any ideas / Suggestions.

I had the same issue...ended up being an ABS Sensor up by drivers side wheel. Unfortunately they don't sell just the sensor and you are forced to buy the sensor including some other parts that typically are used in that area (no idea what they're called sorry) but it cost me about $130 just for the part...labor was free as my father is a mechanic and thank goodness because I can only imagine what the labor would've cost me! Anyhow this cleared the code for me and the instrument lights went out...unfortunately this is a recurring issue in this car, once your over 150k miles its sure to happen again and again! This car has more issues than I've ever come across in other cars I've owned and its too bad because its otherwise quite a reliable vehicle engine wise. Im at 196,000 miles and the engine still purrs like a kitten! Good luck!
the abs is showing a fault and that is causing the trac light. the ses is the air bag system fault. you need a shop with a scan tool that will look at the code and give you a bid for the abs. same for the ses as well. Roy
my grand am had the same probem. th abs light will come on and the traction control will turn off at the same time due to your wheel speed sensor not operating right. the sensor are integral in both of your front wheel hub assemblies. a lot of people will say you need to replace the whole hub assembly because the failing sensor but what happens most frequently is the wire connector for the sensor which is right by the hub assembly will get very dirty (its right by your wheel so it's easy to see why) and it will result in a failed connection. try taking you wheel off and then unplugging the connector and seeing if there is damage in the wires. if it all looks okay just clean out the connectors on both hubs with some electric components cleaner (or mass air flow sensor cleaner, I used it and it worked great). also applying some di-electric gel in the connectors afterwards would not hurt. after they are clean try driving it and see if the problem is solved. if its not then there's a good chance the sensor is in fact bad. however the hub assembly can run anywhere from 80 to 150 dollars a piece and requires a special oversized socket tool to replace it so its definitely worth the try to clean out the connectors first
My OBcII Scanner tool does not show any fault codes in the OEM. Suggestions? Thanks OH, it originally starter when turning to the hard left backing up, if this would help in isolating the problem. Do all 4 wheels has sensors? Just front causing problem? Bearing assembly need R & R ?
