Hello, the tachometer is merely a gauge that shows data provided to it about engine speed. It's not possible to know what - if any - correlation between symptom and component operation is. Hands on testing is needed. I would suspect that there is some data missing when the transmission needs it for shift timing. A diagnostic tool for this OBD-II vehicle would be highly beneficial.
