My G8 is in indoor storage why does it run down the battery so quickly?

4 to 6 weeks of being parked is actually a long time. If "storing" the vehicle that long, disconnect the negative battery cable to ensure the battery does not drain unnecessarily. Further, have the battery fully charged and then checked for the ability to sustain a load and for overall battery health.
