Turn the key hear spinning sound is there part that shears for the starter ?

Hello, The starter pinion gear slides to engage the flywheel when the starter is energized. If it does not, the starter will just spin all day, and sound somewhat like a radio controlled toy car. Bench test the starter to see if the pinion gear slides out when the starter gets power. If not, the starter must be replaced.
