EGR valve

your EGR will be located at the end of a small pipe that comes out of your exhaust manifold. the pipe will lead up to the intake manifold or throttle body & probably be covered in heat resistant mesh. It looks like a tiny spaceship or pod thing & will have a vacuum line attached to the top. These generally just need to be taken off & cleaned with carb cleaner instead of replaced. Then take a low E guitatr string (or anything you have around) & attach to end of a drill. Stick it through the passages while running the drill. Then clean up with carb clean. Your car will usually have no driveability issues if you just block off the vacuum to the valve & it will never operate. It's an emissions control to reduce NoX.
