all gauges quit working and then they will start working on and off.i have replaced computer,and gauges still go erratic.the computer was the one next to the battery.will the voltage regulator in the computer cause this

What computer did you replace? Are any other items not working at the same time as the instrument cluster?

the computer i replaced was the one mounted on the left fender next to the battery.

I had the same issue ..It's cold solder joints on the back of the instrument cluster. I took it out and touched most of the solder joints with a soldering iron. It worked fine afterwards OR replace the cluster.

Your problem might be like my 98's pull instrument cluster and redo solder joints at main plug.My had a code of no TCM input.
