What is your question?
Shutting it off and turning it back on doesn't help. Put map sencer in and went about 20 miles and ran good. Shut it off to get gas, thinking that the problem was fixed. Started it back up and like to never got home. It's a 1989 Cutlass Supreme International. No option to choose for that What seems to make the problem better or worse? Nothing

In 2008, I had a similar problem with my 1988 Cutlass Supreme during a road trip on Interstate 70, stranded for a day. The digital display started flickering and a few seconds later the engine quit. The problem was a poor battery connection. Apparently, the alternator feeds power through the battery connectors, so keeping the contact surfaces clean with a soft wire bristle brush is necessary.
