I recently replaced my A/C compressor, high pressure switch and I used a retrofit kit. I put 2 cans of ester oil (6oz)ea in it to see if it would leak and had no problems, so I added 1(12oz)can of freon with stop leak, 1 can of straight freon and the compressor kept coming on and off repeatedly so I added another (12oz)can of freon with dye and the a/c blew cold as ICE for almost 2 weeks with no problem. As I drove it recently, when I'm on the freeway at speeds of 65+mph all the vents seem to all of a sudden seem stopped up but the blower is still on Hi. If I turn if off for a few minutes and then turn it back on, it will blow for a while and then it does it again.. What's my problem..... Milton

the evaporator is icing up and causing a restriction. when it defrosts, then all back to normal. the problem is the orfice tube. it regulates the flow of freon to the evap and the pressure should never drop below 20 lbs on the low side. the low pressure switch should shut off the compressor and it sounds like it is not doing its job. you also did not evacuate the system either. this boils out all the moisture in the system. moisture in freon will cause all kinds of problems. take it to s shop and let them properly service the system.
