What is your question?
I have a 2016 Nissan Titan XD with Cummins 5.0 L Turbo Diesel Engine. One afternoon on my way back from LA driving up 101, I had to hit my brakes to avoid something and noticed the car behind me is going to fast, and I try to accelerate to prevent the car behind me from possibly hitting me, so press the accelerator and there is a 2-3 second delay in response from when I pressed the accelerator and the engine responding. It was a close call but the accident was avoided. I tested this on a quiet street and it is definitely repeatable. I took it to the Nissan dealer and they flashed my ECM but that did nothing.
What makes this problem better or worse?

Hello, You may notice this only happens after pressing the brakes, and all other times the engine responds nearly instantly. This may be a result of the turbocharger and the ECU disabling the accelerator due to the brake being applied. The turbo may be taking a moment to spool as braking will trigger the release of boost pressure. Couple that with the engine control module preventing acceleration upon braking, and you have a slow start. This is a common issue with VW/Audi gas and diesel turbo engines, but the only times it gets fixed is with aftermarket turbochargers/waste gate combinations or tuning the ECU.
